Couples Therapy

It can be easy to lose trust and connection in a relationship when so many things in life need your energy.

Many people seek out support because they are feeling stuck. The same painful patterns keep repeating themselves, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to make things better.

If you find yourself fighting often with your partner, or feel like the spark in your relationship is gone, it is normal to feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and even hopeless.

Couples therapy can help.

It can take courage to ask for help when you get stuck and it is a sign of strength to reach out when you need it.

Many of us didn’t grow up with the best relationship models to learn from.Healthy relationships take regular work, skills, time and energy.

The good news is, those skills can be learned! And your relationship doesn’t have to feel so difficult.

It's possible to learn new ways of being together that feel better.

Imagine a life where you could...

Feel more free and confident in your marriage.
Have the intimacy you want with your partner.
Get to the root problems and work through them instead of using band-aids or getting caught in a confusing web of complexities.

How Therapy Works

Therapy consists of regular 75 minute sessions for couples, 50 minute sessions for individuals. The session is focused on helping you work through your concerns. In addition to listening, I will ask questions and provide guidance based on my experience; I play an active role. Here’s how it will work step-by-step:

First, we’ll begin with a few sessions to get clear on where you are, review your history and clarify where you want to go.
By talking about your experiences, we will get a clearer picture of what your challenges are.
We may start with helping you with immediate concerns like how to communicate difficult emotions, how to emotionally support each other and to develop nurturing practices to support your relationship.
We will also work to discover what your goals are and what additional types of tools might be useful to start developing.
Keeping your unique goals in mind, we’ll figure out what’s needed to help you reach them
Over the course of our sessions, you will start making progress together and we will periodically check in about what’s needed for the work to reach your goals and complete our work together.

Research shows that Therapy can positively change your thinking, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. It can help you let go of what’s holding you back.
